The Sacrament of Baptism is the initial sacrament of initiation. It is the sacrament that cleanses us from Original Sin and incorporates us into the Mystical Body of Christ. Jesus tells Nicodemus and us, "Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit" (John 3:5). And so we are called to be baptized so as to be reborn and have the promise of eternal life. The church has the mandate to baptize when Jesus says, "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20). This is also a great responsibility for the parents and Godparents to assure that they teach the children all that Christ has commanded us.
El Sacramento del Bautismo es el primer sacramento de la iniciación cristiana. Es el sacramento que nos limpia del pecado original y nos incorpora al Cuerpo Místico de Cristo. Jesús le dice a Nicodemo y a nosotros: "En verdad, en verdad te digo que nadie puede entrar en el reino de Dios sin haber nacido del agua y del Espíritu" (Juan 3: 5). Por eso estamos llamados a ser bautizados para renacer y tener la promesa de la vida eterna. La iglesia recibió el mandato de bautizar cuando Jesús dijo: "Por tanto, vayan y hagan discípulos de todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que yo les he mandado "(Mateo 28: 19-20). También es una gran responsabilidad para los padres y padrinos asegurarse de enseñar a los niños todo lo que Cristo nos ha mandado. -
Requirements / requistios
- If you are not a registered parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manor, Texas, you must request a letter of permission from your parish to baptize at St. Joseph.
- Parents and Godparents must take a Baptismal Class prior to scheduling their child's baptism. (the baptismal class is valid for 3 years)
- Godparents must be living in a state of grace (must have all the sacraments of initiation [Baptism, Confirmation, Communion] and if living with a spouse, they must be married through the Catholic Church (Proof of this will be required), and must be at least 16 years old. (Fill Online)- A copy of the child's State Issued Birth Certificate must be submitted.
- All the documents must be submitted before a date is scheduled.
- Once the date is confirmed, the office will give you a Baptism Pass card with the date. You must present the pass at the church to have access to the ceremony. If you do not present the card, the baptism will not be celebrated.

- Si no es un feligrés registrado en la Iglesia Católica St. Joseph en Manor, Texas, debe solicitar una carta de permiso de su parroquia para bautizar en St. Joseph (la iglesia donde esté registrado o la de la zona donde vive).
- Los padres y padrinos deben tomar una clase de preparación para el bautismo antes de programar el bautizo de su hijo. (la clase es válida por 3 años).
- Los padrinos deben estar viviendo en estado de gracia (deben tener todos los sacramentos de iniciación [Bautismo, Confirmación, Comunión] y si viven con una pareja, deben estar casados por la Iglesia Católica (Se requerirá prueba de esto), y debe tener al menos 16 años. Los Padrinos necesitan llenar el Convenio de los Padrinos.

(Llenar online)- Se debe entregar una copia del certificado oficial de nacimiento del niño, emitido por el estado. (NO EL COMPROBANTE DE NACIMIENTO)
- Todos los documentos deben presentarse antes de programar la fecha.
- Una vez confirmada la fecha, en la oficina le entregarán una tarjeta con la fecha. El día designado, debe presentar la tarjeta en la iglesia para tener acceso a la ceremonia. Si no presenta la tarjeta en la iglesia no podrá realizar el bautizo.
