SACRAMENTS: First Reconciliation and First Eucharist (First Communion)
Preparation for these two Sacraments occur in the 3rd grade year. A pre-requisite of two years Religious Education is required. If your child is older than 3rd grade and wishes to receive these Sacraments they will attend RCIA Sacramental classes, on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p. m.
CONFIRMATION: A minimum of two years of formal Religious Education must precede the Sacrament., which is received in High School in the 10th Grade.
BAPTISM: Baptism for older children ages 7-18 who are not baptized are welcome. Preparing for the Sacrament is a two-year process. The most important thing parents can do to help their children for the Sacraments is to attend Mass with them regularly, and make sure they are attending Religious Education Classes regularly as well.
VOLUNTEERS: As we begin to prepare for our 2019-2020 Religious Education program, we are looking forward to seeing our returning volunteers as well as some new people who are joining us this year! We are in need of teachers, substitutes, help in activities class, and Security Patrol (protecting children from running out to their cars after class. )
All volunteers must be (EIM) compliant Ethics and Integrity in Ministry who minister to youth. An application must be filled out and must attend an EIM workshop every three years. For more information please see the Diocese website at www. Austin diocese. org.
